Wayne Dalton repair · Tucson, AZ
Discount Door Service repairs Wayne Dalton garage doors across Tucson, AZ, Oro Valley, Marana, Vail, Sahuarita and the Catalina Foothills. Wayne Dalton is the brand where knowing the make genuinely changes the job, because many of their doors use the TorqueMaster counterbalance system, which houses the spring inside a sealed tube above the door rather than on an exposed shaft. You cannot see a TorqueMaster spring fail. There is no gap to look for and often no bang to hear, so the first sign is usually a door that has quietly become too heavy for its opener. Family owned since 1999, licensed ROC #322606. Call (520) 579-9084.

Wayne Dalton trouble? Call (520) 579-9084 · TorqueMaster and conventional torsion · Price before work
Is this your door?
The first two are specific to the enclosed spring system and are the reason these doors get misdiagnosed as opener faults.
01
The classic TorqueMaster failure. The spring is inside a tube, so when it breaks there is nothing to see and often nothing to hear. The door simply stops being counterbalanced.
02
Same cause, one stage later. The motor has been lifting weight the hidden spring should have carried, and openers do not survive that for long.
03
On the enclosed system the cable winds inside the assembly. Slack there means the internal components have moved and it should not be operated.
04
Not every Wayne Dalton is TorqueMaster. Plenty use a standard exposed torsion shaft, and those fail the ordinary way, with a bang and a visible gap in the coil.
TorqueMaster and conventional torsion look nothing alike once you are up there, and they need different parts and different tools. Getting this right before the visit saves a second trip.
With the opener disconnected, a sound door stays put halfway. On an enclosed system this is the diagnosis, because there is nothing to inspect visually.
The enclosed assembly is not a conventional spring swap and should not be improvised with generic parts.
Cables, drums, rollers and particularly the opener, which has usually been compensating for weeks before anyone called.

What to expect
Identification first, because on this brand it decides the whole job.
01
A door that got heavy without a noise points one way. A bang and a visible gap points another. Both are Wayne Dalton, but they are different repairs.
02
Enclosed tube or exposed shaft, then the price before any work starts.
03
Rebalanced by hand, opener force re-set, and cycled before we leave.
What changes the price
Two different counterbalance systems under one badge is the main reason. Four things decide it.
The enclosed system uses proprietary internals and takes longer. A standard torsion door is a standard torsion job.
Weight drives the spring specification, and the enclosed system is sized the same way.
Because these fail silently, they often run broken for longer, and the opener is frequently the casualty.
Proprietary components take longer to source than generic torsion springs. We will tell you honestly if something has to be ordered.
You get the price before any work starts, and we will tell you which system you have before we quote it.
Tucson homeowners
With a conventional torsion door you can stand on the garage floor and see whether the spring has parted. With an enclosed system there is nothing to look at, so the test is physical: disconnect the opener and lift. If the door fights you or will not stay where you leave it, the counterbalance has gone regardless of what it looks like from below.

Did way more then Expected .Posted on Google Andrew LemkeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Awesome Service at a Great Price!!!! I had Discount Door Services install two high-lift garage door conversions on my existing doors. Two competitors quoted me a much higher price and didn't seem all that interested in the job. In contrast, Paul visited my home, spent time discussing my goals for the project, went over my options and provided the most reasonable quote. Simply stated, he went the extra mile to earn my business! Corey did great job on the install. He arrived on time and made sure I was happy with the final results. The doors operate perfectly! There were no surprise charges or issues. Overall it was probably the best home repair / service experience that I have had in a long time, possibly ever! I will certainly give them my business if I ever need future garage door service and I will recommend them to friends and family. High quality service at great prices is hard to find these days, but you will find it with Paul and Corey at Discount Door Services! Look above the door. A conventional torsion system has a visible spring wound around a steel shaft. TorqueMaster has a plain tube with no spring on show. Tell us which you can see and we will bring the right parts.
Because on an enclosed system there is nothing to warn you. The spring fails inside the tube with no bang and no visible gap, so the first symptom is weight or an opener that starts struggling.
It is sometimes possible depending on headroom and the door, and it is a genuine conversation to have rather than an automatic yes. We will give you the honest trade-off for your door rather than a blanket recommendation.
The proprietary internals take longer to source than generic springs. Give us the model when you call and we will tell you what we can bring with us and what has to come in.
No. Plenty of their doors use standard exposed torsion, and those are an ordinary spring replacement. That is exactly why we identify the system before quoting.
